Daily Care & Maintenance
Caring for your laminate flooring is fairly low-maintenance, but it is still important to establish a care routine and follow a few basic maintenance tips to make sure your floors last for many years.
Place walk off mats or area rugs at each entryway to collect dirt and grit that might be tracked in. Sweep and dry mop daily, or several times a week, depending on how much foot-traffic an area receives. A vacuum cleaner (without a beater bar) can be used. An occasional damp mopping is also suggested. However, your laminate flooring can expand if excessive water is used while cleaning. After damp mopping, a clean dry cloth should be used to wipe your floor thoroughly.
Dealing With
Spills & Stains
When it comes to your floors, spills, and stains are inevitable, especially if you have pets or children. If you spill a liquid on your laminate floors, wipe it up with a clean cloth immediately. Use a damp cloth to remove any residue. You can also use a wet mop, but since too much water can damage laminate flooring, be sure to wipe it with a dry cloth afterward.
